Who am I?

Hi there! My name is Jana, and I am product designer.

If there is one thing I would want the reader to understand about me, it is that I heavily focus on communication with my clients or colleagues/teams I work with and, of course, users in order to deliver the smoothest experience for them.

If there is one thing I would want the reader to understand about me, it is that I heavily focus on communication with my clients or colleagues/teams I work with and, of course, users in order to deliver the smoothest experience for them.

After years of self-teaching design and working on client projects, I enrolled in the MA in Digital Arts at the University of Belgrade, completed Google’s UX Certificate, and worked in-house as a UX/UI designer, gaining a strong understanding of team dynamics.

I believe that stems from my background in languages and linguistics, and interacting with students to make sure they learn in a way that is natural for them. Also, my experience in AI sales has helped me to master how to understand users (potential clients) and deliver information to them that makes them want to interact further.

My main pillars

  1. Human-centered Thinking

Good design blends intuition, storytelling, and intention. Each project starts with understanding the emotional side of a problem and what makes the experience lighter. Focus is on the details that shape experiences: tone, rhythm, and subtle interactions that guide users forward.

  1. Clarity as a Core Principle

The work sits at the intersection of creativity and clarity, turning complex ideas into experiences that feel simple, human, and grounded. From end-to-end flows to detailed interface work, the focus is always on clarity, usability, and emotional ease. Design should help, not overwhelm.

  1. Multidisciplinary Perspective

Coming from outside traditional UX brings a perspective that blends creative intuition with product structure. Storytelling, emotional resonance, and visual harmony are paired with logic, usability, and systems thinking.

  1. Driven by curiosity

What drives my work is the belief that good design can make someone’s day easier, more beautiful, or less stressful. A deep curiosity about how people behave keeps the process rooted in learning, experimenting, and continuous improvement.

What I do in spare time

Shellwenow - Daily illustrating & animating

2024 marked the year in which I wanted to remember every day by daily drawing. The topic was shells, hence my website logo. This project allowed me to explore illustration, build up routine and discipline and generally this personal project brought me so much joy. Below you can see a few animations from the same project.

My recipe book - App design & build

Recently, there’s been more space for building in public through hackathons, including one powered by ContraxBuilder.io. As part of it, My Recipe Book was created - a lightweight tool designed to quickly capture improvised recipes on the phone, something that’s already proving surprisingly useful. Even without a win, the experience of building openly and receiving peer critique became one of the most valuable parts of the process. The demo shown is a preview from desktop.

Žalfija - Café menu design

A friend of mine started a local coffee shop in her neighbourhood, creating a meeting spot for the locals and beyond. It screams cosy so this menu depicts just that - their style and what they stand for: fun, ease, less-stress, nurturing drinks and food.
